Quick start for a new account

Set up the minimum records needed to begin tracking a Canadian rental.

Intended outcome

Create connected property, tenant, lease, rent, and expense records.

Prerequisites

Sign in, choose a billing plan if prompted, and gather the property address, unit names, tenant contacts, and lease terms.

Steps

  1. In Properties and units, select Add property and save the address and unit structure.
  2. In Tenants, select Add tenant for each person needed on a lease.
  3. In Leases, create a lease and select its property, unit, tenants, dates, and rent.
  4. In Charges & payments, confirm charges and record payments as money arrives.
  5. In Expenses, record rental costs with their property, date, category, and vendor.

Expected result

The dashboard and reports can connect activity to the correct rental records.

Common problems

  • If Add property is disabled, open Billing and choose an eligible plan.
  • If a unit or tenant is missing, save that record before reopening the lease.

Product boundaries

LandlordRentals organizes records; it does not screen tenants, move money, or replace legal or accounting advice.
